The snow is finally here!! You know what else is finally up and running and absolutely perfect? This new blog and website situation. Have you ever tried to fix something so many times that you just hated it? That’s how I was feeling. My blog and site didn’t match what my brand is all about- […]
I have had a lot of firsts this year, animal portraits being one of them. I don’t typically market myself for them, and I’m not always sure that I will be able to give the best portraits, but I haven’t heard otherwise! It’s exciting and fun to try new things every now and then, and I love animals so why the heck not?!
I am LOVING meeting these couples for 2018! You don’t even know how wonderful it is for me to meet these guys and have some fun with these engagement sessions. I met with Meredith and Mason at a Christmas tree farm and we did a little walking around. I have actually never been to a tree farm before (I know GASP) so it was really fun to just see how awesome they are.
Happy Wedding Wednesday!! That’s a thing right? If not it is now! I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with another one of my 2018 couples and let me tell you they are so wonderful! We were laughing pretty much the entire time we weren’t shivering. It wasn’t that bad (I’ve photographed in worse) but it was still cold.
Happy Monday!! I’ve been on the fence and of the fence about sharing these types of posts with you, but I really gave a hard thought and I decided that I would keep seeing frustration and sadness in brides unless I started the conversation. So here goes. Today I want to talk to you about your wedding photographer, and their style. I know that doesn’t really seem that important right? Like why can’t you just find someone who takes beautiful photos and is in your budget and call it a day? You can, but I’m here to tell you that you won’t be as happy as you could be with a photographer who’s style speaks to your soul.
Happy Friday!! Today I am so excited and honored to be sharing my personal thoughts on a product for photographers. I received an email a few weeks back from a wonderful company called Sleeklens. They offer workflows and presets for photographers, and they have a workflow dedicated to wedding photographers!! How amazing is that? So I’ve had the workflow for a little while and I’ve been testing it out and playing around with it, and I wanted to just share my thoughts on it.
Hi there!! I love welcoming my new brides during the engagement season. It makes me so excited, and happy and crazy. So, naturally when we set the date for Andrew and Brittany’s engagement session, I was SO EXCITED! The wether however had a different story. Luckily we were able to find a new date that worked perfectly. Brittany actually lives in Buffalo, so she made the drive over to Erie for her session and I’m really happy that we were able to come together. These guys are so adorable. I was smiling the whole session so much that my cheeks hurt when I was left.
It’s another wedding Wednesday and I am so excited to share some of Jake and Sara’s wedding with you! I loved working with Sara- actually our connection is a pretty cool story! I photographed a wedding last summer for our dear friends Jeremy and Kristi in South Carolina. We all had so much fun together and I met this wonderful woman named Erin. She was bubbly and beautiful and hilarious, and she loved my work hard. Fast forward to the end of my coverage of the reception and the beginning of the “Sam is a guest now” time period. Erin runs over and asks me if I have a card. I always do so I gave her one, which she stuck in her honey’s shirt pocket. She explained that her sister was just engaged and she would be referring me to her!! I was so humbled and excited that at a reception I was gaining a referral by some crazy wonderful people. Sara connected with me soon after we got back to PA and we hit it off instantly. Sara is so sweet and funny and her sarcasm is my life. I am so happy I had that card with me last September!
WOOHOO Hey there Friday!! This month is flying by, it’s almost November. I can’t even believe that looking at my crazy busy calendar for October. I have so many new brides to welcome to the SZP family, and with that comes so many adorable engagement sessions. I want to take a few minutes today and talk about some important stuff…style. Now when I’m chatting with you about your session we talk about style in such fun way- with photos! I have created style boards on Pinterest for my sessions to help you bring your vision to life. My favorite board to create was the one for my gentlemen, can you believe that? So today let’s chat about mens’ style!
Memories. Love. Laughter. All of these things coming together on a wedding day makes for an emotional roller coaster, lots of smiles and cherished photographs. I love families coming together to celebrate each other, and sometimes families come together to be formally bonded. Those moments are my favorite, and that’s a memory Lindsay made sure was on the top of her list for me.
