It’s another wedding Wednesday and I am so excited to share some of Jake and Sara’s wedding with you! I loved working with Sara- actually our connection is a pretty cool story! I photographed a wedding last summer for our dear friends Jeremy and Kristi in South Carolina. We all had so much fun together and I met this wonderful woman named Erin. She was bubbly and beautiful and hilarious, and she loved my work hard. Fast forward to the end of my coverage of the reception and the beginning of the “Sam is a guest now” time period. Erin runs over and asks me if I have a card. I always do so I gave her one, which she stuck in her honey’s shirt pocket. She explained that her sister was just engaged and she would be referring me to her!! I was so humbled and excited that at a reception I was gaining a referral by some crazy wonderful people. Sara connected with me soon after we got back to PA and we hit it off instantly. Sara is so sweet and funny and her sarcasm is my life. I am so happy I had that card with me last September!
Jake and Sara got married at the masonic temple in downtown Erie. I have never been inside the building, but I drive by it often. It was so historic feeling and it just had a really cool vibe. The reception was in the grand ballroom of the same building, and there was even another wedding that day on a different floor! There were 2 weddings in one building on the same day, and we wouldn’t have had any clue. Sara and Erin sadly lost their father before he had the chance to walk Sara down the aisle, so her sweet bridesmaid and friend did a tribute to him on her wedding shoes. It was a special way to still have him be able to walk with her, and it definitely brought a few tears to my eyes.
Take a look at some of my favorite moments of the day!! ( Not photographed but still a favorite was when I jumped in the dollar dance line to dane with Sara-and then no one else wanted to cut in so we danced for an entire song!)
