Preset and Workflow Review! | SZP Education

Happy Friday!! Today I am so excited and honored to be sharing my personal thoughts on a product for photographers.  I received an email a few weeks back from a wonderful company called Sleeklens.  They offer workflows and presets for photographers, and they have a workflow dedicated to wedding photographers!! How amazing is that? So I’ve had the workflow for a little while and I’ve been testing it out and playing around with it, and I wanted to just share my thoughts on it.

So the first really cool thing about this workflow is that it’s all in Lightroom. If you edit in LR like I do, you know how great the presets tab is.  I have my own collection of presets that I use to achieve my light and airy and romantic style, but what about all of the before work? I usually hand edit for exposure and tweaking but I found that this workflow has presets and brushes that do all of that work for me! The collection has 112 presets and 23 brushes in an instant download folder.  Inside are directions, the presets and brushes, and a small taste of what the presets look like and some easy recipes to create beautifully edited work.  The cost? Only $31!

The preset bundle  includes:

  • 11 all in one look presets
  • 14 base presets (my favorite)
  • 6 exposure presets
  • 6 color correcting presets
  • 9 tone and tint presets
  • 5 polish presets (for things like contrast and sharpening)
  • 5 vignette presets (these weren’t really for me)
  • 10 wedding film presets
  • 14 wedding fashion presets
  • 11 wedding matte presets
  • 9 vintage presets
  • 12 black and white presets

So, now let me show you a few of the combinations that I used in my own work to show you how versatile the presets can be, and the endless amount of creations you can achieve.

For this last example, I used one of the premade formulas given in the free PDF that’s included in the folder.  My reception work is a little different than this photo but I actually think I might lean more towards this in the future!

There you have it!! While my style doesn’t exactly mesh with the bulk of these presets, they are a huge help in speeding my process along, and the creativity you have in front of you is truly endless.  The feeling I get from a majority of them is a deep cinematic tone.  I think that it’s a stunning look and I may play with more of my personal work in the future. They are easy to use and play with and overall I’d say they would be a helpful addition to a photographer looking to add to their creative bank!!

Want to know where to find them?? Click here to go right to this collection, here to go to their photo editing service page, and here to just look around other collections that they have available.  I want to thank Sleeklens for sending me these presets to play with and learn, and I hope that this review is helpful for anyone who reads it!!

Happy weekend friend,

-Sam
