The drive was far, but not the farthest. We had the radio and AC on blast, and the highway was flying by. I was getting those nervous but excited butterflies that I get before every wedding. I had never met Amanda or Isaac minus a call we shared and a string of emails. I knew they were so excited to be married and to start their life together, I knew they were ready to have the day of their lives, and I knew they were the sweetest people. All I needed to do was give them each a big hug and do this thing!
We met at the couples’ new home, and it was full of bustle and chatter. Lauren and I divided to conquer and although I could hear everything going on downstairs, there was no place I’d rather be than with Amanda. She was so excited and calm, a trait that I love seeing on a wedding day. As they both got ready and the time to leave got closer, it grew warmer and warmer outside. I had no worries, I was just ready to watch them say I do.
We drove to Mammoth Park in Mount Pleasant Pa. Now let me preface this by saying I’m not the best at directions, but when using a GPS I am usually a no fail at getting to where I need to be. When we heard the GPS say we had arrived and I looked around, I panicked. We weren’t even in a park! Luckily we were just up the road a bit, and Amanda made sure we were in the right place. The aisle was blocked by a beautiful set of white doors that Amanda’s aunt and uncle had made. She was able to make a beautiful entrance onto the island. The sun was shining and there were a few scattered white clouds in the distance. The ceremony was short but so beautiful. They prayed together and entwined cords together to symbolize their coming together with God in this marriage.
The reception at Bell’s Banquets was a party for the ages! There was a beautiful (and delicious) dessert table with a cake Amanda made herself. Everyone danced their hearts out and had the best time. As I walked outside to get things ready for their grand sparkler exit, a small part of me wondered I’d be able to give them the picture perfect sparkler portraits. It was still very much in daylight. I didn’t think I couldn’t do it, but I wanted those to be the photos that signified their start as husband and wife, running through the flames of life together. Sometimes life is dangerous, just as sparklers in the hands of your friends who are too excited, and sometimes life is beautiful like the way they sparkle in the air. I’m happy to report that they turned out beyond my dreams and I may just ask all sparkler exits be done during light hours now!
Enjoy some of these moments from a beautiful summer wedding in Mount Pleasant Pa!

Isaac & Amanda, I am so honored to have been a part of your wedding day. It was so wonderful to see you come together and commit your lives to one another. I know that you will be there for one another and love each other through it all. That’s the best part of marriage I think. Knowing that you have always got someone on your side. Thanks for putting up with the nuzzling in the sun!
