All Jessica knew she wanted was snow. That’s all she asked for when we booked the engagement session. Now, I stupidly thought of course there would be snow in December. It’s Northwest Pa we’re talking about. I woke up that Saturday morning, looked out the window and nothing. Not one single flake in the sky. This was not good friends. I wondered how we could pull this off, if maybe when I got to Edinboro there would be a few area where the snow hadn’t melted yet. As I pulled into the driveway and looked out on the property, I knew we’d have to do something special. Jeremy and Jessica pulled in and we chatted for a few moments. I learned that their wedding would be taking place here as well this coming summer, and I got excited. I love being able to walk around the wedding venue for an engagement session. It’s so fun to see how things change between your engagement portraits and your wedding portraits!
Jeremy and Jessica were so much fun to hang out with. They were laughing and genuinely having a good time, and I loved it! I have this one situation that I love setting up with my couples. I ask them about their first dance song, and if they enjoy dancing together. Then I just come right out and ask them to dance with each other. It’s one of my favorite things to ask and wait for their reaction. I sometimes add in that they can hum their first dance song to each other, even if it’s terrible. We get some laughing that way, and it makes the whole thing so much better.
I can’t wait to be back at Goodell Gardens in Edinboro for their wedding day! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their wintery, but not snowy, engagement session!
