The How We Gather Shootout | North Carolina Wedding Workshop

Sunshine, birds, the sounds and feelings of warmer weather woke me up as I lay in my adorable quirky Air BnB.  I was in Pittsboro, North Carolina and it was the morning of the How We Gather Shootout.  I spent the day before driving from Pennsylvania, about 9 hours.  I was exhausted by the time I got in, so after many hours of sleep I was ready for the day! I pulled into the parking lot of Forest Hall At Chatham Mills and was immediately blown away. There is certainly nothing like this place at home.  It was a beautiful space, and the vibe just felt so chill and dare I say “hip”.

Meeting Chelsy and everyone there was a huge breath of fresh air.  I was nervous, being from a very different area, that I maybe wouldn’t fit quite in the group.  I couldn’t have been more wrong.  Everyone was so welcoming! As we all looked around the room I saw that the attention to detail was impeccable.  There were so many things set up, flowers everywhere.  I was just aching to get my camera out and start shooting.  The models came out and the other 2 photographers and I looked at each other.   It was going to be a fantastic day.  I was (and still am) basically speechless about it all.  Jus the way it all came together.  I had been looking forward to this for a few months, after seeing Chelsy talk about it on The Gathering Co.’s Instagram Stories. I knew that I’d be able to make new connections and meet some amazing people, all while creating the most magical and stunning photos.  I really wasn’t prepared for what came out of me! Here’s a look at the first part of the shootout, an Edgy Black and Blue Glam look!

Aren’t these guys just the sweetest? They’re currently engaged, and I just can’t believe how easy it was for them to do their thing with 3 groups of photographers, and have each run be different.  I loved the back of Amy’s dress, and the leather jacket was just the most perfect touch! Also yes- that is a mobile bar and I was just as obsessed as you probably are.  We need one of those here ASAP!  I want to give a HUGE shoutout to all of the vendors who came together to make this shoot happen.   I know they all worked so hard and so long to make everything perfect, and I definitely think they are just as happy as all of us are!
