“. . . Do do do”
You know you sang that! I hummed the now famous children’s shark tune all afternoon; being the hostess of a shower was a plus because I wasn’t participating in the don’t say baby game. I do not plan baby showers often, but you know when it’s for your little sister you bend the rules and make it happen. Back before I knew whether I was getting a niece or nephew, we decided that the shower would be Pigs for a girl, Sharks for a boy. I sat down at my computer and started creating all these different elements using both of the themes.
When I found out we were team shark it really took off. I was determined to make this baby shark shower one for the books! We are a DIY family through and through. My sister, mom and I are pretty crafty and so we all came together and created this huge Pinterest board full of ideas that we wanted to try. There were balloons, cake ideas, games, snack ideas, you name it. The night before the shower, I was up at 2:30 am finishing this cake. I am a perfectionist, and it had to be just right for my sister. I know that she didn’t really care that I wanted each scale on the cake in line, or that the massive balloon installation sat just right on the wall, but she knew that I was in the zone. It’s just a way I show love. I take all of my loved ones best ideas and try my very best to turn them into a reality. I think we achieved that! I could go into detail on each of these DIY projects, and maybe if you want I could do a separate post with some of my favorites!
Enjoy some of our favorite memories from this Baby Shark Shower!
To my beautiful little sister- I cannot believe I can share all of these memories with you, and share even more knowledge as you are on this journey. I know that you are going to be the best mommy, and I am so excited to add auntie to my list of titles. I love you, and I loved being able to put this together for you and celebrate!
