Opening the door to the getting ready suite, the Dixie Chicks filled my ears, hairspray filled my nose, and I was greeted by a bridesmaid in an adorable red cotton dress. I was so excited to see Nicole, and as I made my way to the other room I was greeted cheerfully from my beautiful bride in her chair. She may have been half done with her hair, and in a white sundress, but she looked perfect. I was so excited to be with Nicole and Taylor on their wedding day and it had just started!
Thinking back on their autumn engagement session, I knew that both of them were just so excited to be together and they loved each other so much. As I watched the bride to be and her girls get ready I couldn’t help but smile. Nicole had a very special item with her throughout her wedding day. The leather jacket worn by both her grandfather and father had its’ own spot throughout her getting ready, and onto the rest of the day. I couldn’t help but take a deep breath while arranging her details. This was something so special to her, and it was something that pulled at all the strings to my heart as a parent. I laid the bouquet on the jacket and arranged the charm that donned a photo of Nicole’s dad. That photo may be one of my favorite from the day.
As everyone finished getting ready, the emotion in the room went from chill hanging out with your gal pals, to “OH MY GOSH I”M GETTING MARRIED”! We were all ready to hop on that shuttle over to Blue Heron Brewery & Event Center and get this thing going! As everyone pulled up to the venue, the sun was shining and little white clouds filled the sky. The fountain behind the ceremony site was babbling and providing the slightest mist as guest poured into the chairs. The ceremony was preformed by Taylor’s brother, and was the perfect mix of humor and seriousness. As tears were wiped away by laughter, the vows were recited and rings were exchanged. They were married! The fountain picked back up as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and it provided the best backdrop for these photos.
I could probably go on and on about how much I loved being with the Goodwill’s. Their families were just so loving and friendly. The dance floor was packed, from a Pa polka, to a heartfelt “Hero” moment with Nicole, her mom, and her sisters. Enjoy some of my personal favorite moments from their day!
Taylor & Nicole- I know that you are currently starting your honeymoon, and I hope that it is so freaking fun, but know that I am so darn thankful to have spent this day with you. Your love is so strong and so beautiful, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you! I hope you’re enjoying yourselves and having the best time!
A Big thanks to all of the vendors who came together and made this day perfect!
