The sun was warm and fabulous. The sound of the waves crashing hit my ears and was welcomed as we pulled into the lot. I was so excited for this engagement session. Lover’s Key State Park is along the Gulf of Mexico, and it’s MUCH different than the lake front beaches I am used to. As Daniel and Lydia got out of their car and we walked down the boardwalk, we chatted about the beautiful weather, the red tide that was so bad (which I had no idea what that was until Daniel explained it to me!), and how I already knew they were going to do amazing. I always tell my couples to expect to feel awkward for around 10 minutes. This isn’t something they are used to , and it takes a few to get the hang of it and find the groove. When we finished at the beach and were walking towards the cars, I had asked them how those first 10 minutes were. They shocked me pleasantly by saying it wasn’t 10 minutes at all, maybe 1 or 2!! I really don’t think I could have been more excited in that moment. It just goes to show that once we start talking and getting into it, your session is a breeze!
After we left the beach, we headed into Fort Meyers, along the river. I’ll be totally honest and tell you that I had no idea what it was going to look like. I had just flown in the night before, and wasn’t able to go scout as much as I normally do. That didn’t stop us at all from finding some gorgeous locations, and getting that beach city nightlife vibe. There is an epic dip photo that is now in my top 5 photos ever taken. Seriously, it’s amazing and I couldn’t believe my eyes when we did it and I looked at the back of the screen.
Daniel and Lydia are saying I do next year at The Harper, and I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with them. We are going to have a great time! Enjoy your scroll through these romantic beachy portraits, and show them some love!
